Tim Harmston began his standup career in 2002 at an open mic night at Minnesota’s Mall of America (the second largest mall in the world), but his interest in comedy developed years prior while sitting around the campfire in his home state of Wisconsin cracking jokes with his father and uncles. His wry sense of humor—which is by turns whimsical, satirical, and abstract—and amiable stage persona helped quickly establish him on the Minneapolis comedy scene. Just a year after his open mic debut he won Acme Comedy Company's Funniest Person in the Twin Cities 2003 contest. Since then he’s won a Rusty Nail award at the 2008 Rooftop Comedy Festival in Aspen, CO, performed at the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival at the Johnny Carson Theater, and at some of the finest clubs in the country from LA to NYC. TV appearances include NBC’s Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central's Live at Gotham. With topics ranging from sports to politics to sweater wearing dogs, Tim’s act is a unique blend of stories, observations, and one-liners. He unpredictably veers from the dark and demented to the delightfully absurd with the greatest of ease, pleasing audiences without patronizing them. Tim also writes and directs his own short films, music videos, and commercials.
